About Chris Aycock, President


Chris Aycock is known for his great sense of humor that creates a relaxed constructive atmosphere. He skillfully adapts his facilitation style to fit a diverse array of organizational cultures. Chris' facilitation style is amiable and supportive, and he is effective at balancing individual contributions with group dynamics. He is known for his engagement in projects while also remaining neutral. As a leader and facilitator, he is motivated by helping leaders positively affect people’s lives.

He has extensive experience facilitating board retreats, large strategic planning projects, multi-stakeholder projects, community engagement, and team building for governments, nonprofits, and communities.

Chris is trained, skilled and experienced in nationally respected facilitation approaches including The Skilled Facilitator approach by Roger Schwarz and Associates, Inc., and Technology of Participation by The Institute of Cultural Affairs. He writes articles on strategic planning and related issues.

Prior to founding The Aycock Group, he worked in management positions in the public sector including serving as a senior level manager. This experience provides first-hand knowledge in relating to the various positions in which clients may find themselves.

Chris Aycock has a Masters in Public Administration from North Carolina State University and is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Public Administration. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He enjoys time with family, sharing humor, composing music for many different instruments, as well as hanging out with his cute but mischievous labradoodle.
