Jim Freeman City Manager of City of
Havelock
|
Chris Aycock of
The Aycock Group successfully facilitated a retreat for The City of Havelock
where the Mayor and Board of Commissioners created a shared vision for the city
as well as goals and objectives to work toward achieving this vision. Besides
being included as part of the budget work book materials, the vision, goals and
objectives were extremely helpful in the city's budget discussion along with
providing staff a better understanding of the governing body's
priorities.
In addition, Chris assisted the Mayor, Board of
Commissioners and the Manager, in identifying our expectations for each other.
I recommend Chris Aycock and The Aycock Group to work with cities and towns on
strategic planning, board development and priorities for budgeting. |

Chris
analyzed and combined our current documents and created a draft Strategic Plan
reflecting all our goals and objectives. He then facilitated a one-day retreat
with the Buncombe Board of Commissioners, helping the Board create new
priorities. Chris worked with me and the Board to ensure that we had a final
Strategic Plan that addressed all the Board's issues. It was a pleasure to work
with The Aycock Group, and I would definitely work with them again on future
projects. |
 Edmund P. Regan Executive Director,
North Carolina Retired Governmental Employees' Association
|
Recently, we had
the pleasure of working with Mr. Chris Aycock of the Aycock Group in the
development of a strategic plan for the North Carolina Retired Governmental
Employees' Association. We were positively impressed by Mr. Aycock's
professionalism and his skills in his activities with our Strategic Planning
Committee and our Board of Directors.
Mr. Aycock led a two-day
strategic planning session with the Board and the staff of the Association. He
used facilitation methods that allowed the discussion to flow freely while also
ensuring that all voices were heard and that goals and measurable objectives
were established. He gathered useful information from the group that later was
incorporated into a strategic plan. I recommend the services of Chris Aycock
and The Aycock Group to your association, nonprofit organization, or
governmental agency.
Please feel free to contact me if I can be of
further assistance. |

Dick Fowler Executive Director NC Association
of Soil and Water Conservation District
|
The Aycock Group
assisted the association by facilitating a three-year strategic plan that
evolved from a grassroots planning effort that provided an opportunity for all
492 district supervisors to engage in the process by offering ideas and other
input gained through experience in the Districts. Technical staff and a number
of very important external partners also provided valuable input. Surveys,
eight regional meetings and a board level leadership retreat were some of the
methods used. The association created a vision statement and the mission
statement below as well as goals and objectives to accomplish this mission. The
association worked collaboratively to create a meaningful plan that will move
the Association forward today, and in the years to come.
Mission: The
purpose of the NC Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts is to
connect, coordinate and build the capacity of soil and water conservation
districts to help all citizens protect and conserve natural resources.

Chris Aycock,
thank you so much for your work facilitating our recent board of commissioners'
retreat. Several commissioners have called me to tell me how productive they
found the day to be. I have provided your written summary of the retreat to the
commissioners, and I have gotten some positive comments on that as
well.
From my perspective, I found you to be well prepared, and I
particularly appreciated the way you were able to involve all the commissioners
in the discussions. I thought we were able to cover a wide range of issues, and
you did a good job of keeping the discussion moving so that we did not get
bogged down on any particular topic. The staff came away from the day with some
clear direction on a number of policy issues. Please feel free to have any
prospective clients call me for a reference. |

Chris
Aycock with the Aycock Group facilitated a segment of our leadership Board of

Chris, on behalf of Montgomery County Board of
Commissioners, I want to thank you for facilitating our recent Board retreat.
You did a great job. I have received numerous compliments on how well the
retreat went. As you know, strategic goals are so important in a successful
county government. Setting these goals was a crucial step in our survival in
these hard economic times in which we are living. The retreat was very
successful.
